Washington,
DC – The Public Forum Institute today announced plans to conduct
regional women entrepreneurship summits.
The regional conferences are the result of tremendous
response to the Women Entrepreneurship in the 21st
Century conference occurring today and tomorrow in Washington, DC.
Regional conferences are currently scheduled for July 15 in
Nashville, TN and September 9 in St. Louis, MO, with more in the
planning stages.
The
Public Forum Institute has partnered with the U.S. Department of
Labor and the Small Business Administration to hold the Women
Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century conference.
The conference, which has an expected attendance of more than
1,000 women entrepreneurs, will be held Monday, March 18 and
Tuesday, March 19 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International
Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
Tuesday’s portion will be web cast live from 9 am to 12 pm
Eastern time at www.publicforuminstitute.org.
According
to the Small Business Administration, there are currently 9.1
million women-owned businesses in the United States.
The Center for Women’s Business Research has found that
employment and revenue rates in these firms are growing at a faster
rate than the national average.
The event will provide a forum for women business owners to
celebrate their successes, share ideas and bring attention to any
obstacles that stand in the way of further growth.
