Residents
to discuss social security ideas
AKRON BEACON JOURNAL
Area
residents will have a chance to voice their concerns about the
future of Social Security at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Quaker Square
Hilton, 135 S. Broadway Street.
The
event is organized by the Public Forum
Institute, a Washington D.C.-based public policy
education group that has enlisted area corporations, labor unions
and activist groups as co-sponsors.
U.S.
Rep. Tom Sawyer, D-Akron, is slated to attend the half-day event.
The
forum is intended to give the public a chance to influence
policy-makers who will shape the future of Social Security.
