Exporting for Growth
Experts from industry and government will provide information about key issues, a primer on overseas markets, as well as tools available to help guide the women entrepreneur who may be thinking about “going global”.

Health Care
The rising costs of health insurance is becoming an unaffordable burden for  entrepreneurs – this session will help attendees understand why costs are increasing, options that may be available, and future financing trends based on cost pressures and policy initiatives.

The Taxman Cometh’
With tax time right around the corner it’s good to know there are resources in the government that want to help.  This workshop will review what the federal government is doing to help entrepreneurs navigate various aspects of the tax system.  A tax expert will be on hand to provide information about specific tax code changes, and government officials will also discuss programs underway to help business owners cope.

Doing business with the government
This session will cover all aspects of “procurement”, or contracting with the government. Key people in government will discuss opportunities to help women entrepreneurs navigate the procurement system, and outside experts will share their knowledge about certification issues and tips for winning federal government contracts.

Me…a media expert?
The media can be a powerful tool to help gain positive exposure for the women entrepreneur and her business.  A panel of experts will share their experience and knowledge about developing and maintaining a productive relationship with local, regional and national print and electronic media.

Venturing for Capital
Great entrepreneurial ideas generally go nowhere without money. Women entrepreneurs find that capital for growing their businesses is often scarce as well.  Experts ranging from venture capitalists to banking and financial institutions will provide women with guidance, information and encouragement on accessing the capital they need to grow their businesses.

Work-life balance
Women entrepreneurs not only run the business, they often manage the family and have multiple community and various outside responsibilities as well.  This relaxing and fun session will provide tips from the “experts” – yes women who’ve done it all, and will gladly share their practical wisdom. Panelists will share tips on “daily renewal”, and policy initiatives that take into account the multiple pressures that women entrepreneurs and their workforce face everyday.

Trend in Technology
With technology changing so quickly – what should women entrepreneurs invest in next? Industry leaders will provide a special update of where technology is going, trends in e-commerce and practical information to help guide technology decisions and planning.

Financial Security
Market uncertainty, prominent issues in the media and initiatives being discussed by lawmakers have created a stir of interest in regards to investments and retirement security.  This session features investment strategists, economists and officials in government who will sort through the issues and offer practical advice and policy options for financial/retirement security.
