Over
the next five years, more than half of all government workers
will be eligible to retire.
This includes more than 70 percent of the government’s
senior managers. This year's session focused on the role of
communications in helping to address the workforce crisis as
baby boomers begin to retire.
Thursday’s
seminar was a great success, book-ended by engaging and
informative presentations by Frank Sesno and Kasey Pipes of the
White House Office of Strategic Initiatives, in addition to the
substantive examinations of two topics: reaching the public
while it is still listening and attracting the best and
brightest people to public service. Though the seminar is
completed, there are a number of ways to enrich the experience
and share the information gleaned from the day.
The
links above will provide you with detailed information on the
seminar. Even if you participated in this event, be sure not to
miss the webcast - including a fully searchable transcript -
made available on Vodium's website.
